Sprint to Cut Local Jobs
Sprint to Cut about 1,800 Local Jobs
Sprint reported it plans to cut 8,000 jobs throughout the company. Approximately 1,800 of those jobs will be in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The cuts will happen during the first quarter and are expected to save the company $1.2 billion.
“Labor reductions are always the most difficult action to take, but many companies are finding it necessary in this environment,” Sprint CEO Dan Hesse said in the release. “We continue to improve the customer experience, and these improvements are reflected in much higher levels of satisfaction in customer surveys and in independent performance tests. Our commitment to quality will not change.”
